Conditions for obtaining service

The exemption conditions listed in the exemptions regulations no. (13) of 2015 should apply to the items to be exempted.

• Ministry of Finance (Jordan Customs Department, Income and Sales Tax Department).
• Ministry of Industry and Trade.
• Ministry of Environment.
• The committee can resort to any party with an experience in this subject for consultation such as (Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology, National Energy Research Center).

Procedures

1. The applicant shall fill the application form for the Ministry to obtain an exemption on the devices and systems he requires, and attach the required documents in the documents section above in the Renewable Energy Directorate / Rapporteur of the technical committee of exemptions.
2. The meeting shall be held as necessary for studying the application and filing the submission to the technical committee of exemptions for duly making the required decision.
3.  The technical committee shall undertake in its periodic meetings the studying of applications submitted to the Ministry regarding the exemption of submitted devices and equipment, studying all the documents attached to the application, and resorting to assign the team of experts and technicians from the engineers in the Ministry
4. If the decision was made it shall be signed by the members and His Excellency the Minister.
5. Notifying the applicant with the approval or disapproval of the application or asking for boosters.
6. In the event of approving exemption, the requesting party shall receive a letter stating that under certain conditions and a copy of the committee’s decision. 

Required Documents

• An official letter addressed to the Ministry of Energy from the party requesting the exemption.
• Commercial register and vocational license.
• Catalogues and samples when necessary.
• Contracts concluded to execute the projects of renewable energy.
• Regarding the systems of rationalizing energy consumption, providing an inspection certificate from a specialized laboratory is required, which state that the item to be exempted saves a minimum of 20% compared to similar devices that do not save energy, and the laboratory conducting inspection should be approved by the Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology.
• Some items require to be presented to a team of experts and technicians for studying and filing the required submission to the technical committee.

Manufacturers, importers and executors in the companies and institutions of renewable energy systems, rationalizing consumption and the inputs of producing the following items:

1. The system and inputs of generating electrical energy from solar energy with all its components.
2. The system and inputs of heating water from solar energy with all its components.
3. The system and inputs of generating electrical energy from wind energy with all its components.
4. Bioenergy system (biogas + direct combustion) with all its components.
5. Geothermal energy system with all its components.
6. Systems of efficiency and rationalizing energy with their different types.
7. Energy audit services.
8. Design and consultations service for the systems of renewable energy resources.
